The 7 best electric standing desks for a home office in 2026

Updated

Short version: most people with a normal-size room should get the ErGear 48 x 24. If you run two big monitors, get the dual motor FLEXISPOT EN1-PRO 63 x 28. If you are well over 6 ft, look at the VIVO 60 x 30. If you are under about 5 ft 8 in or over about 6 ft 4 in, the HUANUO 59 x 30 3-Stage has the widest range here, 23.6 to 49.2 inches.

"Stands up to about" is the body height whose standing desk height equals the desk's top setting, using the same rule of thumb as our calculator. Loads are maker claims. The HUANUO 32 x 19 and VIVO Corner listings each show two different height ranges, so measure on arrival. The table uses the range from the bullets.

The sitting problem six of the seven share

Only the HUANUO 3-Stage goes below 28 inches. By the rule of thumb, 28 inches is a sitting height for someone about 6 ft 3 in. If you are shorter and pick one of the other six, the fix is simple. Raise your chair until your elbows are level with the desk, then put a footrest under your feet. A keyboard tray under the top also works.

Best for most home offices

ErGear 48 x 24 Electric Standing Desk

Height range, lowest to highest setting28.35 to 46.46 in

Get this one if you want a normal-size desk for one monitor or two small ones, and you are between average height and about 6 ft 3 in. Skip it if you want a deep desk. The top is only about 24 inches front to back. Like most desks here, its lowest setting of 28.35 inches is a true sitting fit only for someone around 6 ft 4 in, so shorter users should plan on a footrest or a keyboard tray.

Good

  • Standing range covers users up to about 6 ft 3 in
  • 4 presets make it easy to share
  • Fits rooms where a 55 in desk will not

Watch out for

  • Shallow top. A large monitor will sit close to your face
  • Some tops arrive damaged in shipping

Recurring themes in owner feedback

Do these three things in the return window

  1. Check the top for shipping damage before you bolt anything together.
  2. Run the desk from the lowest setting to the highest a few times with your gear on it. Listen for grinding and watch for a leg that lags.
  3. Measure the real lowest and highest settings with a tape. Compare them with the listing.
